In Shetland they call them ‘voes’). I have never been to the actual restaurant before – although I have sampled the oysters and prawns when the restaurant visits the paddle Steamer Waverley every summer. The food is excellent but I think it would be better during the day when there would be a view of the loch and the delicatessen would be open. Perhaps it is just as well that it wasn’t – I’ve a real weakness for shellfish and smoked salmon so chances are I would have spent a fortune. Afterwards it stayed dry enough for just long enough to set some fireworks off. For once the Catherine Wheel (my favourite) actually works properly and doesn’t either get stuck or go flying off half way through its cycle.
